Under new ownership and management for 2009/2010 season, Blackjack has many changes in store for this season and beyond.

• Fun is Back. The biggest, underlying improvement you’ll notice at blackjack is in this simple slogan. We plan on bringing fun back to everything you do at Blackjack. You’ll notice it across the board in our attitude and in our approach to everything we do.

• Open 7 Days a week. Unlike the last few years of operation for Blackjack, this year the area will be open every day, aside from the very early and late season.
• New Deck. Come check out our beautifully redone deck off the main lodge. We’ve added stairs directly to the snow for easier access.
• Logger’s Lounge. Plans are to return the bar and restaurant at Blackjack to its prime days. We are looking to bring back a good amount of live music to the bar and working on dinner specials as well, including a Friday Fish Fry. Look for physical improvements to Logger’s Lounge as well, including some new wood work under the bar, plasma TV’s, and more coming soon!

• Terrain Parks. Blackjack has always been known for a great terrain park. Expect that reputation to grow substantially. Using experience from Blackjack’s sister resort, Nordic Mountain, new management will be spending a lot more time, money, and effort and building great parks. The Just Cuz Park will be a completely new terrain park featuring small and medium features that will be great for anyone to try on a top to bottom run. The rope tow will still service the Lower Park, which will have larger features for more advanced riders.

• NASTAR. Blackjack will once again return to its strong racing tradition with the reintroduction of the NASTAR program.

Longer Term Plans:

• Glade trails. We plan on thinning out trees in many areas on the hill to provide some great new expert terrain in the woods. Expect the addition of some glade trails for the 2010/2011 season and more to come later.
• Lodging. Plans are to add more new trailside lodging condos within the next five years. The New Blackjack aspires to eventually have some of the nicest lodging in the entire Midwest!
• More Lodge Improvements. Expect to continue to see improvements to the base lodge over the coming years.

Much like we’ve done at Nordic Mountain in Wisconsin over the last 4 years, we promise to invest back in the resort. We’re thrilled to be operating such a great resort, and excited about the future. We hope you are too.
